Caregivers of people with dementia have a difficult and challenging journey, one that often ends in burnout. This workshop introduces you to a method of communicating with and helping disoriented old people. The basic idea behind validation is that people who are in the late stages of life may have unresolved issues that drive their behaviors and emotions. The way caregivers or family members respond to these behaviors and emotions can either make them worse or help resolve them. You will learn a practical approach that helps reduce stress, enhances dignity, and increases happiness for people in your care.
