FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
HIBBING, MINNESOTA, November 20, 2018 – The Hibbing Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors announced that Victoria Hagberg has been hired as the incoming President of the Chamber. Current Chamber President, Lory Fedo, will retire at the end of March 2019. Fedo will work with Hagberg January 7 – March 31 to ensure a smooth transition.
According to Fedo, “Vicki is an excellent choice and I believe that she will be a great leader for the Chamber and community. We have worked together on chamber projects in the past and I have found her to be smart, hard working, and passionate about community development.”
Marvin Vuicich, Chair of the Chamber Board of Directors and head of the search committee said, “First of all I’d like to thank Lory for her years of dedicated service. It is almost bittersweet to be making this announcement as Lory has been a fixture and driving force behind the Chamber for over 25 years. Yet it is exciting to welcome Vicki, a dynamic, energetic new leader who will bring her own ideas to the organization. Change is never easy, but with change comes opportunity and I look forward to the opportunities that will come our way as a result of Vicki’s leadership.”
When asked about what drew her to the position Hagberg said, “I am interested in utilizing my professional, relationship‐building, and leadership skills to both continue the great work the organization has completed in past years as well as we investigate new ideas and relationships. Economic development and downtown vitality are strong passions of mine, and I look forward to the potential to both sustain existing successful programs and revenue sources as well as bring new strategic ideas into fruition.”
Victoria has a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. She also has an A. A. in Liberal Arts from Hibbing Community College. She is currently serving on the Northland Foundation Board of Trustees, the Hibbing Area Chamber of Commerce Revitalization Committee, and is a volunteer on multiple community and regional projects.
